In true detox fashion, I woke up from another food-related dream (I was ordering food at a rooftop bar) and to another 1.5 lbs released...wow. I do want to emphasize that losing 6 lbs in 3 days is NOT typical, but it does reflect that I made some poor eating choices the prior week (I'm not perfect either!) and the excess weight fell off as soon as I started nourishing my body mindfully with clean foods in the appropriate amounts.

Lost another 2 lbs today (again, unusual...most likely water weight, not fat loss), so now I'm back to the weight I was at before I felt "off balance". Ahh, it's good to be back :-) That's 4.5 lbs of junk that got released from my system...really makes me appreciate starting from a "clean slate" when I'm done with this and be more mindful about what I'm eating so that I avoid feeling off again.

When I woke up this morning 10 minutes before my alarm, I was in the middle of a dream about burritos. Actually, it was a burrito buffet. What the heck? I can't remember if I had dreams about food the last time I did this detox, but I couldn't help but laugh as I got out of bed. I don't even eat burritos when I'm not detoxing! Oh the mind is a funny thing.

I'm sitting in my bed, lights dimmed, listening to the soothing voices of Amos Lee and Joshua Radin. Anyways, Day 1 of my Raw Food Detox went really well and I'm looking forward to the next 3 days.

Every couple of months, about 8-10 of my friends get together for a healthy "Rawluck"...that is, a potluck where everyone has to bring a raw dish. That's right, raw. Uncooked. No meat, no grains, no cheese. No ovens or microwaves present. With the help of raw food blogs, cookbooks, and individual creativity, our rawlucks have been a success.
